OVERVIEW

Founded on January 25th 2000, at Ft. Drum, New York a group of football coaches led by Coach “Dee” Pogue were aspired to mentor not only their military youth team but also 5 other civilian young men that wanted to play football on the military base.  Due to strict rules of various reasons, the boys were not allowed access nor did they possess the credentials to even enter the base. As time passed, Coach Pogue fought a constant uphill battle, to convince the General of the base that the community had young men that were in desperate need of good mentorship.  A community, showing signs of being down trotted and poverty stricken and once held in high regards, was now starting to negatively affect the youth. Through much perseverance in attempt to change the young men lives, Coach Pogue was finally granted permission to bring the young men on base under his supervision which in turn led to Coach Pogue mentoring all 5 youths, ranging from 8-18, until they each completed high school and thus the vision of the “Dee” Pogue Foundation was created.

Mission

The mission of The “Dee” Pogue Foundation is to develop adolescent boys into positive thinking, reputable and educated young men.  We do this through our grassroots community based organization created for young men 8 to 18 years old.  The “Dee” Pogue Foundation operates on a 5 Tier underpinning platform of direct exposure, and base its roots in cultivating the minds of its young men by enhancing their knowledge in character, culture, edification, history and vision.
